They were first involved together in evangelism in France and then church planting in Quebec, Canada. In 1989, Harold began teaching pastoral theology at the Faculté de Théologie in Aix-en-Provence, France. Elsbeth participates in chaplaincy ministry and evangelistic outreach in their local church. Though Harold travels to and from West Africa regularly, the Kallemeyns remain based in France.
